Claire is having cramps this morning and she just told me, “I think our little one is on the way”. False alarm or not, expect to hear more about Baby Fisher’s imminent arrival. I won’t be able to help myself 🙂
I’m writing today with a big, huge THANK YOU!!
Last Wednesday, I invited you to support the the Cambodian Children’s Fund as a way of celebrating Wake Up’s 7th birthday.
And boy, did you help!
Within hours of sending out the email, I started receiving phone calls from Cambodia, emails from our community and texts from friends. Many of you were so moved by Scott Neeson’s story that you chose to give generously to the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF).
Even the founder of CCF, Scott Neeson personally emailed saying “Jono – I would like to thank you for reaching out on our behalf on such an important milestone for yourself. In appreciation of your support, we have shared a public message of thanks on our Facebook page…our first 100 children are now preparing to enter university, and this wouldn’t be possible without the support of people like you.”
This was such a powerful example of what we can do if we work together as a community!
I’ve often said that Wake Up is one of the most generous and compassionate communities around, and this week has definitely confirmed that! As Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
I’m more committed than ever to find new ways to mobilise the 150,000+ of us to make the world a little kinder.
Now I’m off to pack my hospital bag, just in case 🙂
With warmth and appreciation,
P.S. Wow! All the 100 x “Super Saver” tickets to Dr. Dan Siegel’s masterclass have been snapped up! If you want a discount, you might want to grab an “Early Bird” ticket now. It’s an honour to be hosting one of the world’s great neuroscientists and best-selling authors.
