“Near my work is the sleeping area of a homeless person who I’d have never actually seen. Every morning I see a bed that is made and notice how the space has been tended. I have always been touched by the care he has for his sleeping place and wondered “who is this soul and what was his story”?
One day, I anonymously left a bunch of roses in a vase by his bed. My heart was pounding because it felt a bit like going into someone’s house and moving things around. The roses stayed there by the bed for a long time, until they withered and died. They were then replaced with plastic flowers, so I imagine they were enjoyed.
Thanks again for what you are doing. I felt great love of the most universal kind.”
